Masterclass sessions on offer for second International Festival for Business being held in the city.
Liverpool city region firms taking part in this summer’s International Festival for Business (IFB2016) are to attend masterclass sessions to help them maximise opportunities.
IFB2016 is a follow-on from the successful IFB2014 in Liverpool and will see 30,000 business delegates from across the UK and all over the world descend on Liverpool during three weeks in June.
More 100 international trade delegations will be attending and 40% of delegates are expected to come from overseas, with businesses due to travel to the UK specifically to do deals with UK SMEs
In order to help city businesses capitalise on the opportunities presented by this year’s festival, IFB2016 is holding a number of business sessions, to prepare and equip businesses for the summer of business.
Representatives from accommodation providers, leisure, retail and the transport services will attend the festival’s Get Ready for IFB2016 Business Sessions which will be held at The Hilton in Liverpool on Wednesday, May 18, and Wednesday May 25.
Deputy Mayor of Liverpool, Cllr Ann O’Byrne, said: “Liverpool has a fantastic heritage as a welcoming, outward-looking international city and we look forward to seeing this famous spirit of hospitality in action during IFB2016.
“ IFB2016 presents a brilliant platform to showcase the city’s fantastic leisure and retail offering, and having tens of thousands of visitors from all corners of the world is an undeniable commercial opportunity that can’t be missed.
“These sessions will help businesses across the city to understand what IFB2016 is all about, learn more about the opportunities which it will create, equip them to be fantastic hosts and ambassadors for the city, and enable them to maximise the benefits of having this huge group of delegates right here on our doorstep.”
Businesses are also being encouraged to join the IFB2016 Business Club , which will provide access to IFB2016’s Meet Your Future Deal programme.
The free-to-join programme is a digital matching service that will provide introductions to potential buyers, partners, investors and suppliers, offering a terrific opportunity to win new business.
Spaces on the sessions are limited but businesses interested in taking part can contact Host City manager, Nav Rai, via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
